This Week's Schedule

The early season practice schedule looks a like this:
  • Wednesday, 11/14 (2:05-2:45 p.m.): Paper Practice; Meet coaches, verify signed Medical recertifications, review GCSD Code of Conduct and Athena Track Student-Athlete Contract.
  • Thursday, 11/15 (2:05-3:05 p.m.): Verify receipt of signed GCSD Code of Conduct and Athena Track Student-Athlete Contract. Complete Concussion Baseline assessment.
  • Monday, 11/19 (2:05-3:45 p.m.): Tryouts; come prepared to warm-up, run, jump, and cool down outside on the track. There will be some fitness assessments to evaluate prospective student-athletes who are committed to COMPETING this winter. Some tests include 400 meter time trial, broad jump, and others yet to be determined.
For those who make the cut, the coaches are looking very forward to a productive and successful Indoor Track and Field season. For those who need to develop greater fitness prior to engaging in a competitive season, information regarding Spring Track and Field will be shared on Monday.

For those who have never participated in Indoor Track & Field before, here is a link which suggests some steps you should have BEEN taking in anticipation of the season. It is EXPECTED that any returning participants be in shape, ready to work on Day 1.
